Downtime

This section describes the difference between recording downtime where recording is stopped versus application downtime where applications are not accessible to users (in test mode there is no downtime).

Downtime during Data Center migration

During Data Center migration to V15.2 Data Center, downtime occurs as follows:

• For side-by-side scenario, one weekend of application downtime is incurred for the entire system.

• For hardware reuse scenario, 3-4 days of application downtime depending on the number of applications configured in the Data Center and amount of data that requires migration.

Recording continues uninterrupted, except for Consolidated Server deployments where there is recording downtime as well.

Downtime during site migration

During site migration, applications continue to be available. Recording continues uninterrupted or else there may be minimal recording downtime of a few minutes, depending on the specific recording environment and replacement strategy.
