Export the root CA certificate

Before you can configure you must first export a copy of the Root CA certificate that you used to issue and sign your source recorder certificates.

Perform this procedure on your source Recorder server - the server for which the root certificate was issued.

Procedure 

  1. In Windows click Start and then Run.

  2. The Run dialog box appears.

  3. In the Open field, type mmc and click OK.

    The Microsoft Management Console appears.

    1. In the navigation tree on the left side, expand Console Root > Certificates.

    2. If the Certificates folder is not listed, open the Certificates snap-in:

    3. click File > Add/Remove Snap-in.

    4. From the Available snap-ins list, select Certificates then click Add.

    5. Select Computer Account, and then click Next.

    6. Select Local Computer, and then click Finish.

    7. Click OK to close the Add/Remove Snap-in window.

  4. Expand the Trusted Root Certification Authorities node.

  5. Expand the Certificates folder.

  6. In the list of certificates, locate the root CA certificate that you used to issue and sign your source recorder server.

  7. Right-click the certificate.

  8. Select All Tasks, then select Export.

  9. Once Certificate Export Wizard starts, click Next.

  10. When prompted to select an export file format, select DER encoded binary x.509 (.CER).

  11. Click Next.

  12. On the next screen select a file name and location for the exported certificate, then click Next.

  13. Verify your settings, then click Finish to export the certificate.

  14. Copy the .CER certificate file to your Import Manager server.
