Manage database growth

Databases are constantly deleting and creating records. This can result in the creation of expanding indexes and database fragmentation.

This database growth is usually defined during configuration (also known as pre-allocation). Unless there is a problem with the configuration, the database should not automatically grow.

Nevertheless, monitor the databases as part your maintenance schedule to ensure that your database drives meet the disk space requirements for which they were configured.
