Purge databases

If enabled, the purging process runs as part of the maintenance window schedule that you establish. If the purging requirement is enabled in Enterprise Manager, the Database purger runs according to an identified schedule (for example, daily during off-peak hours).

Purging mechanism

The purger mechanism first verifies if purging is required by checking the configured watermark (# of contact segments, # of evaluations). If purging is required, one of the following purging methods is applied:

• Contacts are deleted based on their age, regardless of the partition in which they reside.

• The purging is done based on various criteria, such as the number of contacts that should be retained.

• Oldest contacts purged only if they are not evaluated, and if archived, when contact archive expiration date has passed.
