Metadata details

Metadata Detection requires configuration of metadata attributes and values. Metadata Details is where you define the attribute type and value that you plan to detect on interactions.

Type

Identifies the metadata attribute type defined. You define the type when creating the metadata and you cannot change the type for existing definitions.

The following types are supported:

  • ANI: Automatic number identification or Caller ID associated with the interaction.

  • Called Party: Telephone number of the line to which the interaction was directed.

  • Calling Party: Telephone number of the line from which interaction is initiated.

  • DNIS: Dialed number identification service, which identifies the number that the person dialed, which is useful in contact centers with multiple numbers.

  • Queue: A mechanism used to aggregate a volume of work. Queues can be identical to an ACD queue, but are not necessarily limited to a one-to-one mapping.

  • Skill: Defined activity that an employee is able to do. For example, process loan applications or mortgage applications. When a schedule is created, each queue in the campaign is mapped a skill.

Metadata detection also supports any custom data fields defined in your system, which vary from one deployment to another.

Value

Defines the value you want to detect in interaction metadata. You can enter one of the following:

  • A string literal detects a single instance of the attribute.

  • A regular expression detects permutations of values. To use a regular expression, ensure that you have selected the Regular Expression check box.

Enter any sequence of alphanumeric and special characters.
Default value: Blank
Minimum characters: 1, Maximum characters: 255

Regular Expression

Select when you enter a regular expression in the Value field.

Use of regular expressions is recommended for advanced users only. No validation of the regular expression occurs. Test each regular expression before deploying it widely in watch lists. To learn more about regular expression syntax, see the related topics.

Description

Provide an optional description that identifies the intended use of the metadata entry.
