Verint SIP Recording System

The VSRS acts as a generic SIP endpoint, emulating either a SIP phone or SIP trunk. There are three main components in the VSRS:

  • Recorder

Terminates Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) endpoints to receive audio or other media from third-party systems.

  • Application Tier

Provides, at a minimum, applications to search and replay the interactions recorded.

  • SIP Server

Responsible for controlling the actions of multiple Recorders. The SIP Server:

    • Directs the Recorders to receive media on open ports

    • Tells the Recorders when to start and stop recordings on those ports

    • Tags the recording information to the Recorders

The SIP Server is also responsible for the SIP stack. The stack:

    • Receives SIP INVITEs and other SIP messages

    • Makes internal decisions on whether a particular interaction must be recorded

    • Finds a Recorder that has the resources to perform the recording

    • Controls the recording on both the SIP and Recorder sides

The Recorder and SIP Server may be on the same physical server, or separate servers.
