Workflow: Manual TAS server preparation

Follow the steps in the workflow to manually prepare the TAS servers in your deployment.

Workflow

  1. Mount RPM ISO and install Verint repository

Optional. Mount the RPM ISO and install the Verint repository on all TAS servers in your deployment, including the Management server. Alternatively, you can install the required third-party products on your own.

  2. Install RPMs for TAS servers

Install the appropriate RPM on each of the TAS servers in your deployment: Management, Application, and Datastore servers. Alternatively, you can install the required third-party products on your own.

  3. Create TAS user group and TAS user account

Create a TAS user group, and tas_install user.

  4. Prepare TAS Management server

Prepare the TAS server designated as the Management server. The Management server holds the repositories with the Docker images to be deployed on the TAS Application and Datastore servers. The Management server has additional requirements compared to the TAS Application and Datastore servers.

  5. Prepare TAS Application server

Prepare the TAS Application server to provide text ingestion, processing, and application services, including analytics insights.Prepare TAS Application server

  6. Prepare TAS Datastore server

Prepare the TAS Datastore server to host the customer index and data. Prepare TAS Datastore server

  7. Configure TAS Datastore servers for high availability

Configure the GlusterFS service on each of the TAS Datastore servers in high-availability environments. Typically, you can have from three up to five Datastore servers.

  8. Configure TLS for TAS servers

Configure TLS for all TAS servers by creating and installing the required SSL certificates on the TAS servers.

  9. Configure TAS servers hosts

Configure the Docker engine on all the TAS servers — Management, Application, and Datastore servers. Configure TAS servers hosts

  10. Unmount and delete RPM ISO file

Unmount and delete the RPM ISO from every TAS server in your deployment.

  11. Download and mount install ISO package

After completing the server preparation, download and mount the ISO package for TAS installation on the TAS Management server.

  12. TAS server on-prem registry setup

    Configure the on-prem registry manually.
