Select Commands to Execute

You can configure up to five trigger commands to be fired on the same trigger. Each command has its own command line and has access to any of the trigger’s available criteria. Commands are sent to the operating system in the defined order. The order is adjustable.

Execution of multiple trigger commands

The order the commands are configured to run is the order that they are sent to the operating system. However, some applications take longer to start than others, so the exact order in which they start is not guaranteed.

To enforce procedural commands that are different executable programs, split commands into separate triggers and configure the triggers to fire sequentially by using trigger variables within their trigger definitions.

Procedure

  1. In the Triggers Properties area, select a Command to execute from the list.

    • The list consists of both predefined trigger commands and user-created trigger commands.

    • A description of the trigger command, syntax, and other parameters to be supplemented for correct trigger firing, appear.

The description automatically appears for all predefined triggers and can be created for new triggers when creating a trigger command.

    • When using Predefined Trigger Commands for V11 Recording, the Class of Service property appears.

  2. If required, enter other command-line arguments in the Additional Parameter field.

  3. To add a second trigger command for this trigger, click Add Command and select a command to run, and enter other command-line arguments.

  4. You can continue to add commands to run, up to a total of five.

  5. To arrange the trigger command execution order, use the Move Up and Move Down arrows. The commands run one after the other in series, according to the defined order.

For reporting purposes, to avoid duplicate trigger counts for triggers with multiple commands, the first trigger command only is logged to the database and appears in reports.
