Restore from backup

For different scenarios, such as a software fail or system changes, it is required to restore backups which include restoring hosts, encryption keys, policies, and other configuration information and bring the server back to its previous working state.

The backup key can be restored on the brand new server only by bringing the backup key from the old server.

When you run the backup, you create the backup connection under the root domain.

Before you begin

  • Break the HA before backup restore.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CipherTrust Manager web application as Domain Administrator.

  2.  Go to Admin Settings, select Backups.

  3. Perform one of the following based on the scenarios:

    1. If the backup file is not in the server and is part of the external storage, then you have to download the backup file and upload it to restore.

    2. If the backup is available on the server, then select the existing backup on the server.

To do so, click Upload Backup. Choose the downloaded backup file and click Upload.

Select the preferred backup, then select Restore for the specific backup; It takes some time, and the backup is successfully restored.

When the restoration process is complete, log on to the CipherTrust Manager application again.

Restoring system backups for HA
