Employee Filter

This parameter specifies which employees to use in a report.

When you create a filter, you can include a subset of employees based on organizations, groups, a time frame, names, birthdays, and much more. Your report will only include the employees that fit all of the criteria that you selected in your filter. To support your reporting requirements, you can create multiple filters and edit existing filters.

The Employee Filter parameter is restricted to roles with the following Feedback Results privilege: Organization and Employee Selection.

  • When a user’s role has this privilege and selects a filter, all other report parameters (such as surveys, questions, business objectives, transactions) are based on the organizations of the employee(s) that matched the employee filter during the report date range.

  • When a user’s role does not have this privilege, this parameter is not available and all other report parameters (such as surveys, questions, business objectives, transactions) are based on the employee’s organization.

When used in a report’s parameter page, this parameter is available in one of two forms: by itself or as part of the Employee Selection group of parameters. The parameter works the same in both forms.

Default value

Prior to running any reports during a login session, the default value for Employee filter varies based on whether a default filter or any other filters have been created.

  • If you have created a Default filter, the default value is your default filter.

  • If you have not created a Default filter but have created one or more filters, the default value is the first filter in alphabetical order.

  • If you have not created a Default filter or any other filters, the default value is blank.

When you change the default value for Employee Filter on a report parameter page and run the report, the default value will carry forward to the next report parameter page when the parameter is used.

Available organizations

In the Customer Feedback Employee Filter, under the Organization Name section, an organization is available for selection when it is in the organization scope of a role that has the Organization and User Selection privilege.

The following scenario explains why some organizations may not be available for selection:

  • You have one role that has the Organization and User Selection privilege in Org A.

  • You have another role that does not have the Organization and User Selection privilege in Org B.

From the Customer Feedback Employee Filter, under the Organization Name section, both organizations and their suborganizations will be listed. Organization A and its subordinates can be selected, but Organization B and its subordinates cannot be selected.

Report data

If the report user was previously in an organization that was not in the organization scope of a role that has the Organization and User Selection privilege, the report will not include data from the time period.
