Refine the results set

You can refine (narrow) your search or folder results, to display a smaller set of items out of the data retrieved. Refining your results set allows you to identify specific interactions, evaluations, and assessments of interest easily.

After you perform a search or access one of the folders, the refining fields and values are displayed, which are synchronized with the results set. Only the values that are displayed in the results set are available in the refining options.

Some fields cannot be used to refine your search results: ANI, Channel, Remarks, Contact ID, Switch Call ID, Contact/Evaluation Flags, Recorder, Screen Recorder, and Speech Analytics Categories.

Example: Refining values displayed

The search result set contains 10 interactions for employee A, 20 interactions for employee B and no interactions for employee C. The refining options display these values for the employees field: employee B (20) and employee A (10). Employee C is not displayed at all in the left pane.

Procedure

  1. From the search or a folder results set, under Refine Results, set the relevant values to refine the results set:

    • Date, Time, Number: Use the drag handles to capture a range of values, or manually type the value you want to refine.

    • String: Click the relevant check box.

If more than five values exist for a string field, the More option is displayed for that field. Click More to display all the relevant values of the field in alphabetical order.

To remove an applied refining field, click Reset or Clear next to the refining field you want to remove. To remove all applied refining fields, click Clear All.

The result set is immediately updated according to your refine selection, and the refine fields and values are updated to reflect the new refined results.

The number of refined items are reflected in the header as follows:

Number of refined items out of number of items originally retrieved.

Example: Header displayed

The number of interactions originally retrieved in a search is 500. After refining your search, the number of interactions displayed is 400. Therefore, the header displays the following: Displaying 400 out of 500.
