Workflow: Change the WebLogic 12.x Administrator Account (Windows Authentication)

In a windows domain authentication environment, the customer prepares a dedicated domain user to manage the WebLogic service for domain user application authentication. This user is referred to as the domain WebLogic Admin Account.

Follow this workflow only when using WebLogic 12.x. When using WebLogic 14.x, then follow the workflow for that version.

To change the user name or password for this account, use the following series of tasks:

  1. Back up the WebLogic 12.x Files Needed to Restore the Existing Account or Password

Before you change the Weblogic Admin Account user name or password, you must back up some files on the application server. If you cannot complete the account or password change procedure successfully, you need these files to restore the system to the existing account user name or password.

  2. Change the WebLogic 12.x Administrator Account to a Different User Account (Windows Authentication)

Perform this procedure to change the Weblogic Admin Account user name.

  3. Change the WebLogic 12.x Admin Account Password (Windows Authentication)

Perform this manual procedure to change only the WebLogic Admin Account password.

  4. Restore the Existing WebLogic 12.x Admin Account User Name or Password

If you cannot complete the WebLogic Admin Account user name or password change procedure successfully, you can restore (or rollback) the system to the existing WebLogic Admin Account user name or password.
