Adding a data source to a profile
After you create or add a new employee, you must associate that employee with a data source. An Employee ID is required for each data source so that data coming from that data source can be associated with the correct employee.
Data sources for Interactions and Analytics
-
If your site uses Interactions and Analytics V11 with multiple CTI links, while other applications such as Workforce Management use a single CTI gateway, there must be:
-
A parent data source set up in Integration Management under Data Sources, called, for example, DS_1 (denoting it as the parent data source). This entry is the data source with which the adapter is configured.
-
Child data sources, one for each CTI link, with names that match the Interactions and Analytics V11 switches (for example, DS_2, DS_3).
-
In the Profiles page, the ACD IDs must be configured with one of the child data sources (for example, DS_2 or DS_3), never the primary parent data source.
-
Data sources for Recording
-
If your site uses Full-time Recording, locate the data source for the employee under Recording Management under Data Sources. The data source can be a Phone or Dialer switch, or a LAN, and then enter or import the Employee IDs and Phone Extensions.
-
Depending upon the seating arrangement set-up in the Phone data source—Free, Fixed, or Hybrid—enter the Employee ID or extension, but not both. For the Phone Extension, you can also select the Pencil icon to show the Select Extension window, choose the extension, and then select Set.
Data sources for DPA (Desktop and Process Analytics)
-
If your site is licensed for DPA, each DPA data source that is active for the employee profile must be populated with a FQDN user name in the form of username@FQDN.
