Change a EMC Centera drive to replay mode

Change the EMC Centera drive to a replay drive. In replay mode, media is not written to the drive. The drive only services replay requests.

Before you begin 

Familiarize yourself with Archive drive settings described in the Define Archive drives topics.

Procedure 

1. In Recorder Manager, under Operations, find the Archive group and select Drives.

2. Locate the EMC Centera drive that you plan to decommission.

3. Record all settings used for the drive. You will need these settings after migration when converting the transfer drive to an Archive drive.

4. Change the Drive Mode to Replay Drive.

5. Click Save.

   If a system message advises you to restart the Archive service, click Operations > Start and Stop and restart the Archiver component.
