Create a watch list of metadata

A watch list enables you to create collections of targets and metadata used for detection. A single watch list can contain either targets or metadata (not both). Use this task for a watch list of metadata.

Example: ANI in a watch list of fraud suspects

Create a list of ANIs using telephone numbers that have performed suspicious activities indicative of fraud. You can set up an alert to create a pop-up message or email alert when a telephone number matches a number in the watch list.

Before you begin

Create metadata

Procedure

  1. Go to Risk Management. Under Configure, select Watch List.

  2. Click the new icon Save icon.

  3. In the Name field, type a unique name to identify the watch list.

  4. In the Type field, select the type of metadata from the supported attributes. For example, "ANI".

After you save the watch list, you cannot change the watch list type.

  5. Click save Save icon.

The system populates the Available list with all metadata values available.

  6. In the Values lists:

    • To assign a metadata value, select the element in the Available list and click Move right icon.

    • To remove a metadata value, select an element in the Assigned list and click Move left icon.

  7. To create a new value for detection, from the Assigned list click Add Value. Values that you save using this method are added to the Assigned list and the watch list is automatically saved.

    1. In the Value field, enter the metadata value that you want to detect.

    2. For watch lists of metadata, you can select Regular Expression when using a regular expression value.

Use of regular expressions is recommended for advanced users only. No validation of the regular expression occurs. Test each regular expression before deploying it widely in watch lists. To learn more about regular expression syntax, see the related topics.

    3. Do one of the following:

      • To create the value and add more values, click Save & Add Another.

      • To create the value and return to the Watch List Details, click Save & Close.

      • To discard your changes and return to the Watch List Details, click Close.
