Metadata requirements for automatic enrollment

Automatic enrollment requires particular attributes to be present in the interaction metadata. These requirements differ depending on whether you are automatically enrolling employees or customers.

Metadata requirements for automatic enrollment of employees

The interaction metadata on the audio channel on which an employee speaks must include an Employee Identification attribute. The system always uses the value of the employee ID (referred to in some areas of the user interface as Employee Name) as the identifying attribute.

  • Employee Identification Rule attribute (required) - The system associates the employee ID value with the voiceprint model it creates for an employee. The system also uses the employee ID value to locate the employee voiceprint model in the Biometrics database for enhancement or analysis.

You also specify this attribute when you create the Employee Identification Rule during the automatic enrollment configuration process.

  • Custom security attribute (optional) - For the highest level of security for automatically created employee voiceprint models, insert a custom security attribute into the interaction metadata for the channel on which the employee speaks. See Custom security attribute for more information.

Metadata requirements for automatic enrollment of customers

If you are automatically enrolling customers, the interaction metadata on the audio channel on which a customer speaks must include a Customer Identification attribute and can include a custom security attribute.

  • Customer Identification Rule attribute - This attribute must have a value that is unique for each customer.

For example, you might use a custom attribute whose value is a specific account number or PIN for this purpose.

The system associates the value of this attribute to the initial voiceprint model it creates for a customer. The system also uses this attribute value to locate the customer voiceprint model in the Biometrics database for enhancement or analysis.

If you use a custom attribute for this purpose, the attribute must be inserted into the interaction metadata by an application or external system.

Note that you also specify this attribute when you create the Customer Identification Rule during the automatic enrollment configuration process.

  • Custom security attribute - The interaction metadata for the channel on which the customer speaks can include a custom security attribute to mitigate the security risks associated with automatically creating voiceprint models for customers. See Custom security attribute for more information.

The custom security attribute is not required in a testing environment. This system can perform automatic enrollment without the presence of a custom security attribute in the interaction metadata. However, due to security risks, use of a custom security attribute is recommended in a production environment, especially for customer automatic enrollment.
