Recording Policy

Capture Verification collects recording data and Call Detail Records (CDRs) to calculate recording compliance relative to a target level of service. The Overview dashboard shows the target and the results under Recording Policy.

Capture Verification uses different algorithms to calculate percentages for Recording Policy and percentages for Alert Notifications. The algorithms use values rounded up or down, which results in minor differences in the percentages reported.

Description

Recording policy gauge

Percentage of compliant recordings relative to the configured target Service Level Indicator (SLI) for recording policy. A compliant recording is a call recorded or not recorded as expected.

A red gauge and negative value indicates that compliant recordings are below the target SLI. A green gauge and positive value indicates that compliant recordings are above the target SLI. The center of the gauge shows the actual percentage above or below the target.

Capture Verification SLI configuration properties define the results Capture Verification counts when calculating the percentage shown on the gauge. The properties define:

  • Partially compliant recordings as Compliant or Not compliant.

  • Recorder not configured as Not compliant or Excluded.

  • Selective recording as Not compliant or Excluded.

  • Bridge not configured as Not compliant or Excluded.

Compliant

Percentage volume of calls recorded or not recorded as expected. This also includes Recorded, partial call and Intentionally not recorded recordings.

Partially compliant

Percentage volume of calls recorded as expected but without CDRs. Without a CDR, Capture Verification is unable to complete the matching process.

Depending on the Capture Verification SLI configuration, Capture Verification counts Partially compliant recordings as either Compliant or Not compliant when calculating the percentage shown on the Recording Policy gauge.

Not compliant

Percentage of recordings and CDRs that are not compliant. Examples:

  • Calls that should be recorded but a recording cannot be found.

  • Calls recorded that should not be recorded.

  • If configured as Not compliant, recordings that Capture Verification cannot match to CDR data.

Not compliant recordings can also include Recorder not configured, Bridge not configured, and Selective recording issues, depending on the SLI configuration properties selected.

Excluded

Recordings Capture Verification excludes when calculating the percentage of Compliant recordings relative to the SLI shown on the Recording Policy gauge.

Capture Verification can exclude Recorder not configured, Bridge not configured, and Selective recording issues, depending on the SLI configuration properties selected.

The Overview can be configured to show the number of calls next to corresponding percentage values in the recording policy and voice quality compliance categories by clicking the Customize Overview button icon Customize the Overview button and selecting Show number of calls.
