Load balancing for the Real-Time Analytics (RTA) Framework

To minimize instances of RTA Framework processing overloading the resources on one or more Recorders while other Recorders have spare capacity, processing is distributed across Recorders with available capacity.

The Recorder Integration Service (RIS) automatically provides the load balancing for RTA Framework processing. No configuration is necessary. The RIS monitors the available capacity for each Recorder. When distributing RTA Framework processing, the RIS selects the Recorder with the most available capacity. To determine available Recorder capacity, the RIS monitors the following for each Recorder:

• Available capacity for recording channels, licensed recording capacity, and RTA Framework processing

• Network connectivity status

• Recording mode

• Health status
